Escriben editoriales cada semana sobre las cosas que más inspiran hoy día: grandes revistas, blogs, fotógrafos, modelos, influencers…Y he tenido la suerte de poder colaborar con ellos 🙂 Por lo pronto la app de REVUU solo está disponible en ingles, aún queda para que se lance en otros idiomas. Así que, como muchos me lo habéis pedido, os traigo hoy aquí la entrevista en exclusiva en español. Hi lovies! How are you? As you could see on my social media, a few days ago REVUU did me an interview for its magazine. REVUU is the new mobile fashion & lifestyle app. They deliver daily editorials curated from the world’s most inspirational, highest quality magazines, blogs, photographers, influencers…I have been so lucky of doing this collaboration with them 🙂 For now REVUU‘s app is only available in English, it’s going to take time to launch in other languages. So, as many of you have asked me, I bring you today here the interview also in Spanish. REVUU.: ¿Cómo empezaste a involucrarte con el mundo de la moda?
Silver is the new Black.: Estudié Diseño Gráfico, así que siempre lo tuve como dentro. Cuando acabé la universidad, decidí especializame en Moda, Asesoría de Imágen, Personal Shopper y Estilismo estudiando con ELLE España. Siempre tuve en mente la idea de escribir un blog, y nunca terminaba de atreverme. Pero un día tomé la decisión de teñirme el pelo de gris. Fue una auténtica locura, algo que haces con tu apariencia física prácticamente una vez en tu vida. Y la verdad es que fue una verdadera odisea, y entonces pensé: «Si hubiera tenido más información sobre esto e igual sobre otros campos como que maquillaje le iba mejor o que ropa, seguro que me habría sentido mucho más segura y cómoda haciéndolo». Y en ese momento di el paso de crear un blog y compartir mis experiencias, mis opiniones y mi vida, con todo el mundo.
REVUU.: How did you start getting involved into styling, fashion and blogging?
Silver is the new Black.: I studied Graphic Design, so it was always inside me. When I finished the university I decided to specialize in Fashion, Image Consultant, Personal Shopper and Stylist studying with ELLE Spain. I always kept in my mind the idea of a blog but I never dared. But one day I made the decision of dying my hair in silver. It was a total crazy thing that you decide to do with your image once in your life. An the truth is it was a truly a odyssey and I thought: if I have had more information about this and about other fields like what type of makeup looks better with this hair or also outfits, for sure I would have felt more confident and comfortable doing it. And in that moment I took the step of creating the blog and share my experiences, my opinions and my life with everybody.
R.: ¿Cómo definirías tu estilo?
S.: Siempre digo que tengo un estilo atrevido pero a la misma vez clásico. Suena algo gracioso, pero dejadme que me explique. En algunas cosas soy super clásica, me encantan el blanco y el negro, así como el gris. Muchas de mis prendas de ropa son muy elegantes e incluso son vintage. Incluyendo mi pelo, porque el color gris representa a una mujer más mayor y más clásica. Pero es entonces cuando me gusta añadir algo super colorido, como un bolso o una bufanda, accesorios grandes. O quizás usar un maquillaje muy fantasioso, con los labios azules o, ¿por qué no? negros. Me encanta hacer eso. Y sobre todo me gusta que he cambiado esa idea de que el pelo gris va de la mano de una mujer mayor. Teñirse el pelo gris ha sido un gran paso, una locura en el sentido de que vas en contra de una tradición por así decir, pero no te importa lo que la gente piense sobre ti.
R.: Would you define your current aesthetic/style as?
S.: I always say that I have a crazy classic style. Sounds funny, but let me explain. In some things I am so classic, I really like black and white colors, as well as grey. Some of my garments are very elegant even vintage. Including my hair, because the grey hair color represents a classic old woman. But then, I love to add colorful things, like bags or scarfs, or big accessories. Or maybe use a really fantasy makeup, with blue lips or, why not? black. I love that. And above all I love that I have changed the idea about the silver hair and old women. Now silver hair is a big step, it’s something crazy because you are going against the tradition and you don’t mind what people think about you.
R.: ¿Cómo ha evolucionado tu estilo desde la primera vez que entraste en este mundo?
S.: Creo que más que mi estilo, ha evolucionado más mi propia persona. He crecido como mujer, he aprendido un montón de cosas nuevas y diferentes. Ahora me siento más madura y responsable. Y creo que eso influye totalmente en mi estilo. Solo llevo cosas que realmente me gustan y que pienso que me representan. Lo más importante es que creo que me he descubierto a mi misma y, por lo tanto, a mi estilo.
R.: How has your style evolved/developed since you first dove into the industry?
S.: I think more than my style, it has developed more myself. I have grown as a person, I have learnt so many different and new things. I feel now more mature and responsable. And I think that influences totally my style. I only wear things that I love and that I think it represents me. The most important thing is I think I have discovered myself and therefore, my style.
R.: ¿Qué te inspira?
S.: Todo. Puedes encontrar inspiración en cualquier cosa: personas, incluso si no son famosos; animales, arte, deportes, libros, moda, películas, viajando…Y esa es la idea, abrir tus ojos y absorber todo lo que puedas, porque eso es lo que te hace crecer. Viaja tan lejos como puedas. Prueba nuevas cosas incluso si tienes miedo. Lee, escucha, experimenta, muevete. No te pares nunca.
R.: What inspires you?
S.: Everything. You can find inspiration in a lot of things: people, even if they are not famous; animals, art, sports, books, fashion, movies, travels… And that’s the point, open your eyes and absorb all you can, because that makes you grow. Travel as far as you can. Try new things even if you are scared. Read, listen, taste, move. Never stop.
R.: ¿Cuál dirías que es tu objetivo final o por qué te gustaría recordada?
S.: No quiero nada en especial. Solo que la gente que me lee sientan que pueden ser quienes ellos quieran, que pueden inspirarse conmigo y, sobre todo, sentir que su confianza en ellos mismos crece. Creo sinceramente que uno de los mayores problemas de esta industria es que hace que mucha gente se sienta menospreciada y no querida. No quiero que la gente me siga por seguirme, quiero que me sigan porque piensen que soy un ejemplo de alguien que se ha descubierto a sí misma y se ha aceptado exactamente como es. Pueden ver mis outfits, mi maquillaje, mis peinados, pero tienen que ser ellos los que descubran que les gusta y que no.
R.: What would you consider your end goal to be and what would you want to be known for?
S.: I don’t want anything special. Just that people who read me feel that they can be as they want, that they can inspire with me and, above all, feel that their self confidence is growing. I sincerely think that one of the biggest problem of this industry is that it makes many people feel unloved and without confidence in themselves. I don’t want that they follow me just for follow, I want that they follow me because they think I am a example of someone who has discovered herself and accept her exactly as she is. They can see my outfits, my makeup, my hairstyles, but it has to be them who discovered what they like and what not.
R.: ¿Por qué lo haces?
S.: Porque cuando era más joven, perdí mucho tiempo de mi vida menospreciándome, perdiendo mi confianza, juzgándome y comparandome con otras personas que yo pensaba que eran mejores. Por aquel entonces no sabía que era maravillosa tal como era, y que estaba malgastando mi tiempo no queriendome a misma. Y ahora soy una chica con curvas, con el pelo gris, que ama todo lo que hace y que esta muy orgullosa de ello.
R.: Why do you do it?
S.: Because when I was younger I spent so much time disparaging me, losing my self confidence, judging me and comparing me with other people that I thought they were better. In that time I didn’t know that I was wonderful in the way that I was, and I was wasting my time not loving myself. And now I am a girl with curves, with silver hair, who loves everything that she does and I am so much proud about that.
R.: ¿Cuál es el mejor consejo que le puedes dar a alguien?
S.: Haz lo que quieras, con tu físico y con tu vida, siempre respetando a los demás, y solo lleva (y haz) cosas que realmente te gusten. Esa es la mejor filosofía de vida.
R.: What’s the best free style tip you can give someone?
S.: Do whatever you want, with your appearance and your life, always respecting other people, and only wear (and do) things which you really love. That’s the best philosophy in the life.
